First time shooting using my new gear. I recently switch over from the dark side, (Nikon) I'm trying to learn on how to set the camera and flash for the correct settings for shooting HS football on Friday nights. If someone could please take the time to post the settings you use, I would really appreciate it very much.
Oh . . . and ya . . . I love my Canon! :D

Thanks for the reply. I read those before posting and really was looking for a little more details specific too the camera and flash. Hopefully I didn't miss it but I really didn't see it.
I was able to guess at a few settings but I'm hoping to get the basic setup to start off with for those Friday night games. Thanks!

As far as camera/flash settings, I can give you a good starting point.
If you are shooting daytime football (no flash), use Av mode and use the widest aperture you have. From the looks of your signature, it would be f/2.8. Using Av will eliminate one setting you need to worry about. Set your iso so that your Tv is high enough to freeze action. Also, set your your exposure compensation (EC) to +1/3 - +2/3.
For night football (with flash), use Manual. Set your Av to f/2.8 and your Tv to 1/300th (which is the sync speed of your MkIII). Set your flash to Manual as well w/ a 1/2 - 1/4th power. Set your iso around 1000-1250. Tweak this in order to properly expose the shot. Personally, I like off-camera flash for football. This is the flash bracket I use (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/278249-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_233B_233B_Telescoping_C amera_Flash_Bracket.html).
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I hope it helps.

Pro, I am almost certain camera and flash settings are covered in the thread linked to (since I started the thread). In summary, if you're shooting at night with flash, there aren't many settings to worry about. Shutter speed is 1/250s; ISO at 800, and you can shoot with your aperture either wide open or stopped down one stop. Try shooting the flash in ETTL mode, using the FEC dial to adjust flash output. You might also try the flash in manual mode.
