Hi all, i wanted to ask some advices on my next purchase to the experts of this forum
I have recently decided to buy the Canon EOS 350D (aka Canon Digital Rebel XT)
Here are my questions:

1) Today I have an analogic Canon camera, equippe with the following optics: Canon EF 35-80 f4-5.6, Canon 75-300 f4-5.6 USM III, Sigma 17-35 f2.8-4.
Do you believe it would be better for me to buy just the 350D body or body+Canon EF 18-55 f3.5-5.6?
2) The lowest prices i have been able to find on the net are 763€ for the camera body and 913€ for the camera body + EF 18-55. Do you believe the 18-55 is worth 150€ (that is the difference between the two prices)?

Thanks in advance!!!

With what you already have, I would not get the kit lens. It's not a bad lens but I don't think it would be an upgrade to your current lenses.

Hi, and thanks for your advice.:)

Does anyone else want to give his opinion?

I don't know how much you are willing to invest... But maybe, a good upgrade would be the Canon 17-85mm EF-S IS USM valued at $ 600 and sold for less in some kits together with the Rebel xt.

If I were in your situation, I'd get only the body and sell the Canon lenses you have now. Neither of them are stellar performers and both are pretty slow for low light work. I have no knowledge of the Sigma lens. Consider the Canon 50mm f/1.8. It's a very good lens for the price (cheap) and will give you good low light peformance and a good lens for portrait work. I agree with the other poster that the Canon 17-85mm EF-S IS USM is a good choice for an all-around lens.
