Just wanted to reassure anyone buying these 3rd party batteries from this company. I ordered direct rather than Amazon.
Had a "dud" issue with the new BP511 I purchased (POWWER for BP511 replacement 2000mAh). They're shipping the replacement and informed me to either ship the "dud" back and they'll reimburse me the cost of shipping...or....keep the dud and dispose of it.
Top notch service.

Yup, that's why they've got loads of happy customers who will recommend them every time.

Yep - had a few of their batteries for the 400d and never had an issse with them.

I'm curious, has anyone compared the weight of the Sterlingteks to a Canon battery (I don't own any Sterlingteks or I'd check myself)? I read somewhere that weight was somehow an indicator of quality of battery materials

Weighed two of each (BP-511):
Canon battery - 80g
Sterlingtek battery - 78g
Not sure this can be considered a significant difference.

Thanks, Raven. Yeah, wouldn't consider that a significant difference.

Sterlingtek has good customer service, quick shipping, etc.
Only thing is, I'm not sure how long they last. I bought some BP-511's from them somewhere around 2004-2005, and they're all still working.
What's up with that?

I bought a couple of Sterlingtek BP511's about 5 months ago, and one got really hot in camera and died just a couple of days ago. I never even though to contact them - should I?

If you want it replaced, why not?

Well, I went to find it and my partner had thrown it with the recycling - which she then took to the recycling depot. So I have nothing to send back. I'll still email them and see what they say...
