Where is the market?

Heya everyone,

I have grown very interested in doing nude work for the online market. I have a few models that I work with in Halifax, and have started to develop a really encouraging folio. I have been trying to take it to the next step though, and this is where I am running into problems.

I have tried selling work to Suicide Girls, but their contract is ABSURDLY restrictive. I have talked to Deviant Nation, and they seem to be none-responsive. I have approached Chaoschicks, and heard nothing back!

I am a little stumped here. Does anyone have any insight as to how to go about getting nudes and erotic work to market? Surely it can't be THIS hard!

Is there any point in approaching Maxim, or Playboy about this kind of work?

I hear you. It's a hard market to get into. There are a lot of great photogs out there and you just have to keep trying. A big part of the success quotient is the models you are shooting.

I've submitted to major magazines only to be told: "Your have a great photographic style, but the model is not what we are looking for."

So basically, we are talking about a nice combination of:

blood
sweat
tears
patience
luck
networking
and bullheadedness...

well i think i will focus on my commercial practice to pay for the rent. Maybe break into the nudie market when I am more stable in the rest of my practice.

I would not be so optimistic about the online market (especially for nude shoot).

I think perhaps a better idea to do some money is organize some workshop.
However in this case is necessary known your market and i don't known Halifax, Nova Scotia
