I just got my R200... my bestbuy gift card finally came in. I'd like to know some results :)
I've always printed with Rogers Photo, that's only because I had "free prints" so I just decided to try them out. Now I'm wondering when I should use what.
//edit; I have a feeling I've already asked this :o Sorry! Anyway.... I'm being scared away by extremely high ink costs, and the hassle of a CIS system... I'm considering just buying 3rd party ink carts.... hm... I don't print *THAT* much, maybe I can sell some photos to get some money back? Haha...

Always use genuine inks meant for the printer. If you care about prints or the printer, that is. Otherwise, if cost is an issue, send your images to Costco or someone else and don't bother buying a printer.

I use thrid party Ink for many years and haven't had any problems. At least on my epson printer.
Pantone makes third party ink for some epson printer that are equal to or better then the Original ink.

Of coarse OEM will tell you that OEM ink is better is because that is how these company make their money. Not on the pinter itself. Most of the Inks that you buy from the OEM are subcontracted to Ink companys the formula is not so secretive as they lead you to believe.
Of coarse there will be exception to the rules. Higher end unit will have special handling, ie Epson R800, R1800, 2400, 4400, and so on.

Epson 2200 with Epson inks. I'm not taking any chances when I print my photographs.

Epson inks with the 2200. Thought about going to the Lyson Cave Paint bulk system, but decided I don't print enough to put it to full use. Besides would have to get all new profiles...

I use ink from Atlantic Ink. They have a good kit for the R200 - which is what I have. I use a lab for prints though. I think it's cheaper and less hassle.
