Just bought Canon T1i and playing around with it. Just have the standard lens 18-55 Decided to try a moon shot. I know not great, but I'm still learning. Wish I had telephoto lens

Looks good for a kit lens. Keep up the good work, as I am sure you will get that telephoto someime soon.

Telephoto will obviously get you a lot closer, but for moon shots you might want to look into a cheap telescope. I was taking photos with a £60 400mm scope the other night, and using a 4x Barlow lens, which cost me £38. 1600mm for under £100. The moon wouldn't fit on my camera sensor, it was that big. And the pictures weren't half bad either.

I took a moon shot at 55mm recently, but it didn't look as if it was as close as yours is.

Where did you take this? I took mine in the Netherlands.

Very nice shot for 55mm.
