70-300 IS Moon

Just bought the 70-300 IS USM and there was a beautiful moon out the other night. This was taken hand held. Image was cropped with some contrast and exposure corrections. I'm very suprised and happy with the 70-300 zoom lens. The image stabalization does wonders!

It's weird how a photo can sometimes make the side almost in shadow look convex and properly 3D, but the opposite side almost concave. Your shot is perhaps a touch dark, but very crisp and sharp and gives a real impression of our moon floating out there all alone in the night sky. It's a very soothing photo somehow! Thumbs Up!

Thanks. You are right about the moon just looking lonely out there. The night I took the picture the sky was so crisp and clear it almost felt like you could reach out and touch it. We don't seem to get to many of these kinds of nights any longer.

I like the moon alone. It looks almost like something you would see shot from the space shuttle. Really clean and clear.
