Hi new to Forums

I have EOS 350D trying to download to Apple Mac Mini, unable to get I-photo's or Canon supplied software to see camera. I checked USB is hooked up to Canon Digital camera and able via PC conon software to tell camera to take remote photo.

I loaded Canon Software onto HP laptop it works fine. so camera usb is working must be a Mac problem. I even down loade latest drivers with no luck so far.

Any ideas.

Gary,

Not sure what the problem is, but you really ought to use a card reader no matter what. I think the Mini has USB 2.0. You can get a card reader for not much money ($35) or you can get a Firewire reader. The Canon software recognizes cards formatted in Canon cameras even in a card reader. You need to double click the Canon icon, then select all and download to the folder of your choice. To make it easy, I have an empty folder on my desktop that I keep there for downloading photos. Then I can make a new folder later and transfer the photos.

Good luck.

Hi
What version of iPhoto are you using?

In any case, I agree with Gary - get a crd reader. easier and also doesn't use the camera's battery.

First off Welcome.

Now to your problem. This may be a long shot, because I do not have a mini, so no first hand knowlege. Did you plug into the USB port on the keyboard? Before I got a card-reader, I had to make sure that I did not use the keyboard USB port because the camera was not recognized. If I plugged into the port on my iMac CPU it would be recognized.
Good luck,
Rob

The 20D also have problems to connect to the Mac, not sure if it's due to no upgrade from Apple's side or not, but the Canon software should work. Although, if I were you I'd buy a card reader (Sandisk has some great ones) and use the Firewire 2 port (faster than USB 2).

to connect to iPhoto make sure your camera's communication setting (in the main menu) is set to PTP (the default is "normal" for PC users).
