Astro-rig and observatory portraits

I couldn't take a pic of my DSLR and CCD Rigs together, so I got a mate to come over with his and shoot us all together...I tell you what, my lens is 18-55. His is 17. That one millimetre makes the world of difference when it comes to getting more of the dome in from that limited distance!

Very nice indeed. I would love an obsy but I would never get planning permission from SWMBO!

Cheers peoples! Actually, getting permission from the land planning authority was remarkably simple, considering it is in the front yard. Canberra has some pretty strict streetscape guidelines.

I think they liked the fact that it was something different and potentially a Canberra attraction, as the Stromlo and Dickson Domes are no longer in operation.
