Hi,
On my G9, whenever I take a picture it looks extremely over-exposed on the LCD screen. Whenever I transfer the picture to the computer, the exposure seems normal and not over exposed. I've tried messing with the LCD brightness, but that didn't help.
Am I missing something or is this just how the G9 is?

That is not normal. On my G9, the LCD image matches closely the image as viewed on my monitor.

Yeah, my G9 screen looked right on, better than my MKIII.

The images on the LCD screen of both my G9 and G11 always look much better than what my monitor screen displays. (Sharper, better color) A bit odd it's the opposite in your case. Maybe your monitor is calibrated and you don't realize it

On my G9, I only use half brightness for the LCD. Still, its odd, though. Mine tends to show underexposure (I dial down the screen brightness) but are a little overexposed in real life.
You're better off using the light meter in the end. It looks like this: |||||| (actually the ends and middle are long but couldn't type it in). I looked at the LCD in the past and then learned about the light meter last year. The light meter is more accurate... Don't rely too much on the LCD. Since using the light meter only, I get the exposures correct (most times).

I pay almost no attention to the LCD picture unless I am using flash... I just glance at the histogram most of the time.
