I went to an airshow in Millville New Jersey yesterday. Took about 200 pics but this was the best. The pilots did a good job of flying by at an angle. I was on the ground but it looks like an air-to-air shot.
100-400L @ 200mm, 1/750 @ f/13.

This is a great photo. I love both those birds. That lens is the tops for this kind of work. Show some more.

Fantastic photo... old and new flying together like that just makes it even better.

Great shot, but slow the ss down. 1/250th max to get nice prop blur.

Beautiful juxtaposition. Slower shutter would add prop blur on the Mustang, don't think it would help the Eagle at all ;-)

Ah, those damn engine stalls on the prop planes ;). Dont worry, its a habit of most aviation photographers. Got to love the Heritage flight as well, always nice to see Ed's P-51 restored!

Yeah, I am definately a rookie aviation photographer (this was my first show), but I was worried about depth of field. My DOF charts said that at 100ft and f/11, my DOF would only be 12 feet. I wanted to create a DOF large enough to encompass both planes. I still learning.
There must be a way in Photoshop to create prop blur...

20D with original neck strap (waiting on delivery of my new POTN strap!)

Trust me, do not, repeat, do not resort to PS to create prop blur. Put your 20D is Tv mode, set it on 1/250 and fire away. 1/125 for taxi shots. 1/320 is about the max you can get away with and get decent prop blur. You will have more than enough depth of field.
