Moving NEWS to a separate page

I'd like to move the "news" functionality of ee to another page so that I have more room to display exhibitions. I have been able to turn it off and I like that look but I do see the value of having news.

Can anyone get me started with ideas on how to accomplish this??

I should have thought about this for a few more seconds before posting the question. Here is my own solution.

Take the function news($last) code from the building_blocks.php and insert it into a new page. I set $last to 3 manually rather than calling it from the settings table. This allows me to leave it off on the index page yet have it active on another page. Works wonderful.

ps. Pekka, you have done a wonderful job of object oriented programing by creating these bits as functions. I'm just learning how to optomize my programing using functions.
