It's my birthday today! I turned 21 for the 13th time. A chaise (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22732567-S-1.jpg) from the wife, a little something (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22732565-S.jpg) from myself, and the cake (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22732566-S.jpg). My smart a** son put all 33 candles on it.

Birthday Toast: I'd like to thank the entire forum for the great education I've received. I've only been a member since March, but I had spent a spent a lot of time reading the posts since fall. What an invaluable learning tool, and great group of people this is! Thanks all.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is that you bought yourself? It look like a very sexy PC tower with a skull - could it be?

Look on the bright side... Could've been 34 candles on it. Happy B'day.

Thanks everyone!!! It's been a nice despite the overcast weather and working int he gardes for six hours - spreading leaf compost, yuk. Had some family over for cake and ice cream, and they brought more loot: a new wheelbarrow (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22763853-S-1.jpg) from mom and dad, some home cultivated (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22763849-S.jpg) plants from my sister's greenhouse, a nice shirt with my favorite team on it (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22763859-S-1.jpg), and another surprise from my wife, tickets to Sarah McLachlan (http://plan-b.smugmug.com/photos/22763866-S.jpg) tonight. I'm not much for big arena shows, but I'll make an exception. The last (and only, come to think of it) time I saw her was in a small club, maybe 10 or 11 years ago.

mrclark321, I assure you thats a cake, my photographic skills don't do it justice!

BlueTit, that is indeed a sexy case, but it is what is inside that REALLY sexy: dual core processors, 500GB of RAID1 disk space, 4GB RAM...

Pekka, I was wondering what that ozone smell was....j/k!

Everone else, THANKS! Again, you great bunch.

Thanks everyone! Sarah was great. The tour theme is "Fumbling Towards Ectstasy" which I thought odd...until she explained that she was just "picking" some of her favorite songs for the set list. She went as far back as Touch in a medley that featured some really great songs from before her mainstream success. I thought that was great since while I truly admire her ability to craft a great song, it was the early stuff that perked my ears.

The wheelbarrow and the bombers shirt (sorry Skip, hope you aren't a Mets fan....) get top honors for best presents this year. It's funny, I spent the day loading mulch into a 'barrow with BIG, rusty holes in it...oh well, this new one will get it's day.

The cake was great, but the three pints of Ben and Jerry's was even better.

Terry, I know what you mean! I joked earlier that I celebrated my 21st birthday for the 13th time, but really this is the third that can remember since I turned 21....:p (that's me "partied out").

Let's all be thankful that things have worked out for us all to be able to have great days like the one I've had today, because I think for most of us, myself included, it has taken a little bit of hard work, and a lot of luck. Take care, and remember, never, NEVER EVER let a friend root for the Red Sox. (j/k)
