Here are some pics from Sweden. It was my first real test of my 350D (only got it days before!). They were taken with the EF-s 17-85 and an oldish Canon 75-300 (oh - and a couple with a borrowed 100-400!). Hope you like!
You can see some more here (http://photobucket.com/albums/y15/Dewspics/Lulea%20-%20Kallax/)

Great work, I love the 3rd one at takeoff. The heat haze at the back looks awesome. :)
(PS. Pics are perhaps a little big for the non-broadband viewers...)

glad you like 'em. The air was cool & clear and really helped the haze!
I realised they're a little large after posting - I'll try to sort something out!

EXCELLENT! Love the shot of the take off. :D (These weren't the Saab I had invisioned, as I was thinking car.) ;)

I'll BET! Cars and Planes, two of my favorite subjects aside from some of Charles U's work. ;)

:D yeah - 60 FEET maybe!
Thanks for compliments! I was pretty pleased with quite a few shots. Like I said - first try out of my new camera (used to use a steam powered EOS 750! - hardly a classic ;) but served me well for years!).

No, 60 mph. In all seriousness, jets are fairly slow off the line. I remember a fun competition a few years ago where a TVR Cerbera 4.2 very nearly beat a Tornado over the quarter mile. Of course, once the jet gets going....

Now you mention it, I remember a long while ago seeing a race between a BAe Nimrod and an Aston Martin Nimrod (lm race car) - can't remember who won. Also I've seen the red '999' F-104 at Grazzanise nr. Naples that was due to race a Ducati 999, but I'm not sure the race happened - that would have been great!

And interestingly, a few years ago Saab made a car called the Viggen as well. :) Not sure if they still make it though...

Yep - it was a 9-3 edition, 200-odd hp named after this plane. Still prefer the proper Viggen!

mmmmmm, yeah saab still make cars with the "Viggen" intercooler, though I don't think they call the car a viggen any more. they were closer to 250Bhp I believe. nice photos btw

robertk - yep that's snow alright! They were taken in Luleå-Kallax (Northern Sweden) back in April - just after the big thaw.
I got shot 3 published in this months (July edition) Aircraft Illustrated magazine (first photo in article & title pick for contents page!).
Glad you like 'em!
