I have been looking everywhere and can't seem to find one.

Does anyone make a Generic Dual Battery Charger for the BP- 511's.

I am shooting a 4 day music festival next weekend, and have 4 batteries, and only one single charger.

$110 is pretty expensive for the Canon one , and tons of companies make a single replacement charger.

Any Help out there?

I have looked on ebay, and I have bid, but there is no garuntee I will get it.

I use the one that came with the camera and an Ambico V-0916 ($30US or less)generic charger that charges a single battery. I have 2 batteries charging while I have 2 in the camera (using the battery grip). When I'm ready to use the other batteries I just swap them. The generic charger that I have also charges other batteries as well as comes with the nifty little 12v plug for the car.

I haven't used the Canon dual charge, but in my experiences with the dual chargers it takes longer to charge the batteries (not that this can be a problem, but I'm impatient when it comes to electronics). The chargers tend to alternate between the batteries.

I know that this isn't the 2 battery/one charger solution that you were looking for, but it's more cost effective than getting the dual charger. Besides, most places have 2 outlets from one panel anyway!! I say use them both!!

The ones on ebay seem to be a little more than half price used.

Amazon has it for $10 less than B&H.

The Canon Dual welel BP 511 charger is at leastfive times the size and weight of the single charger that came with your 20D.. three to four times the soize and weight of the single charger that came with the 10D...

Put simply.. traveling with two or even three single chargers will be less space and weight than the Dual charger.

That and you could probably buy 4 of the singles for the price of one duel.

Based on the activity you are covering, you'll quickly find out a power strip is a required necessity for digital photography.

You'll use it not just for the camera batteries but your flash batteries, portable image holder (external HD device), as well as laptop.

I have done business with this company previously and the communication via email was first rate. Received my order promptly.

I have bought two different chargers, and three types (BP-511, AA, & AAA) of batteries from: www.thomasdistributing.com. They are excellent to deal with and ship promptly.
