My camera was sent to Canon New Jersey for warranty work. I was having focussing problems on both of my lenses, they concluded it was my camera body. They recieved my camera this past Wednesday, how long will it be before I see my camera again?

Boy do I miss it. :(

I sure do wish they would provide a small calibrating thing on the camera itself that with a small screw driver you could adjust the focus. It would be so much easier than shipping it off. Just take some shots, determind how much it's front/back focusing and adjust accordingly. =)

No idea how long it will be.

Are you implying that they do include that? If so, I wish I would have known.

How does canon calibrate the lenses/cameras anyways? Haha...I bet it's as simple as the wish I had :( but they charge an arm and a leg!

Do they do this for free if it's under warranty? (I'm sure they have to but I just want to make sure)

The guy on the phone from Canon told me it wasn't supposed to do that and since it's under warranty to send it in. I can only assume it's free, other than shipping there. But you know the saying about assuming, it only makes an ass out of u and me.

Well, I called Canon Factory Service today and they said it would be shipped back either today or tomorrow by FedEX 2 Day air. I'm so excited! :D

Hey COKE CAN,
I shipped mine (20d & lens) to NJ for the same reason. Left MD on 5/18 and according to UPS tracking # was received there at 9:44am on 5/19. I called Canon Serv Cntr this afternoon (5/23) and they say its not logged in yet. Whatever that means. And they cant even tell me if they have it.

How long from the time you sent yours till the time they say it will ship, was.

The worry bug is creepin in.

Thanks

CK

Well, I shipped mine a week ago, it got there last Wednesday. I called that day and it wasn't logged. Meaning it hasn't been recieved by a tech yet. The lady told me on the phone it normally takes 10-14 business days to get it back. Well, I called today and she said that it is fixed and being shipped today or tomorrow. I'm happy with the turn around time. Hopefully yours is just the same.
