View Full Version : Favorite, not necessarily practical lens?

What is you favorite lens for getting really creative shots? I'm not talking necessarily the most practical lens for a wedding, but if you (or your assistant) could carry around an extra body with this lens on it just to get creative shots, what would it be?

I'm just curious by the way...

15mm FishEye on a full frame body (5D MKII for us) and we sometimes get carried away and use it way too much already. Only thing I dislike about it is the friction fit lens cap which is very annoying and I am amazed I haven't lost one yet.

Of all the lenses that you are likely to want to keep a lens cap on when not actually using it the 15mm is the most critical imo (no filters and the hood doesnt offer much protection) so its a crime that its not a positive fit, in fact worse than that it works its way off due to air trapped behind out.

Love the fun shots you can get with it though. Lots more on our Blog, Nick uses this lens a lot, probably a little too much at times! > Wedding Photographer (http://boundlessphotos.com/blog/)

1. Do one of these at most of our weddings.

2. Good for tight spaces.

I love it! Those shots are all spectacular, but I think the diving one is my favorite. What a cool perspective.

Awesome shots, Jon!

My favorite creative lenses are my tilt shift lenses (the 24mm and the 45mm).
