On my D60, only 1 of my 5 lenses exhibits signs of front focusing. I've had trouble accounting for the lack of sharpness with this lens since I've had the camera. I'd like to understand the issue a bit more and need confirmation. Here is my statement, is it true/ false, or something else?
A lens which suffers from front/rear focus problems will have a lack of sharpness at the intended plane of focus.
The effect of front/rear focus problems are most pronounced at close subject distances rather than long.
BTW, what is the procedure for having the AF tweaked? Do I need to gather up all my equipment along with registration cards and original receipts and then deliver them to a service center?
Thanks,
Roger
