Hi guys, i'm just wondering / wanting to see your comments. What's your prefered sizing on photo albums / photo books? 8x8"? A4? 8x10? 30cmx30cm?

You sell what you show. I show 18x12" and 14x10" albums, I mostly sell the 14x10" as the 18x12" ones are quite a bit more epensive.

Ah cool thanks. Main thing was i wanted to find out which is the most popular, was hoping more people would answer, but i guess i'll just go with the standards of 8x10 and a few others

10x10- 12x12 are my "most" popular. But seriously, it is exactly what Tim said, you are going to sell what you show. You show 3 albums, they will pick one of them. You are not likely gonna hear them request a particular size you don't have.

13x13 inches matted albums. There's just something about this size that I love - everything looks HOT.
I like the bigger albums but sometimes feel they are too big and people don't seem to get them out. One of my friends has a 12x18 of their wedding and they never get the album out as "it's too big and bulky & we can't be bothered".
I actually show an 8x8 at the moment but have new, larger ones (and rectangles instead of just squares) coming later this year.

Thanks so much! I was thinking an 8x10, 9.5x13, and possibly a smaller one, maybe aruond 6x8 or something. Once i've had time to print a few out i'll put it online. Gotta admit, HP Indigo is amazing for photoboots

You sell what you show.
Never has a truer word been spoken!
We do mainly 12 x 12 matted albums (mixture of overlay, pagemount and duo albums from the queensberry range) and the odd digital album from Graphi.

On this note, does anyone mind saying how much you pay per photobook. *not what you charge*. Who do you order it from / how much do you charge? Wondering if it would be doable / cheaper to have it done in in Asia and then shipped to the US / Europe side instead. If doable / price is ok, I might offer a POTN discount for photobook making =)

I haven't made a photo book in ages (I do proper albums), but the cost price is more than what consumers pay, sometimes significantly more. Because books have so many pages they take a long time to design, so I charge appropriately.

Oh BTW Tim, when you say "proper albums" what do you mean? As in photo albums with self adhesive pages or customized photo albums with slip in pockets?
