So I am just finishing up my 1st year of doing weddings so I made a gallery on my site just for weddings. The problem is I get emotionally attached to my photos because of what going on at the moment, there for I have 150 on this gallery. I know thats too much and people won't look through them all. Soo.. I was wondering if any of you kind people had a moment to take a look maybe just thought the 1st couple of pages even, and tell me one I should just get rid of and ones I should definatly keep. Thanks

loved the pics.. not a fan of the Music at all.
I guess i would rather the music be a background to your site.. than a huge focal point to your site.

i have time in my day apparently....
Under the "big day" gallery take away the following:
page one: take out 2, 18
pg 2: keep all the ring shots, along with 3, 9, 12, 17
pg 3: take out 4,5,6,11,17
pg 4: take out 6,8,10,13, 16,17,18
pg 5: take out: 3,5,6,11,17,
pg 6: take out: 1,4,6,11,14,15
pg 7: take out 12, 14,
pg 8: take out 4,5,6,7,9,13,16,18
pg 9: take out 1,5
not that they were bad photos but if i were looking to hire a photographer for my wedding these would not be selling points for me. hope it helps

Absolutely get rid of the music... Very annoying- tried to view your gallery at work, and had to abort because there was no way to quickly turn off the music through the site (unless I missed it). I'll look through the pics when I get home.

Sorry dee, another vote to ditch the music. If my GF asked me to review your site, the music would kill my enthusiasm for anything at your site immediately.

The music isn't bad, but if people are surfing at work they'll close the site right away. Also it restarts when you change to the wedding gallery, that's annoying.
It's hard to say what to remove because nothing's easily identifiable. Make a page that makes it easy, with numbers for each image. In short though remove everything that's crocked (there's plenty), remove the multi-image slides, remove selective color, and remove the ones that are ordinary and that you need to understand what's going on to appreciate it. If there was an easy way to identify them I think I could cut out 75% of the images.

OK ok so I guess I'll be changing the music, glad it got brought up or I wouldn't of even thought of it.
Thanks for the feed back everyone especially sweet november, I know that probably took some time, it's greatly appreciated.
Tim- Why remove the selective color?

Ok is this music any better? and now it doesn't start over when you enter the actual gallery.

As a general tip: No music is good music when you're trying to evaluate someone else's pictures.

Music adds emotion, so it's not all bad. Selective color is an overused, old effect now, I find it like a visual punch in the face that I don't enjoy.

i think the music is ok if it was on like a small online movie.. BUT i just feel that the music should be really understated on a site.

jesh de rox has some really wonderful music on his page..

i feel that simple music has more of an impact when viewing photos of such an emotional time.
but that is just my opinion.
dont get me wrong.. i do like the songs you had.. just not for a wedding gallery. you know?

Oh so are you going to remove the selective coloring from your site (in the Lisa and Daniel gallery)? ;)
Thanks for the imput but thats one thing I'll keep, it's still popular with my clients.

Hi DeeMarie,
A few things. I think music has it's place on websites, I keep mine reserved for slide shows only. I did have music on the main site, however if a prospective customer is at work and has speakers on it can be a problem. I'd rather have them stay and look, then click it off and maybe not go back. Also your music is jumping all over the place, whenever you go into a different gallery. Which is slightly annoying.
You've got some nice images, love the very first one with the shoes and rings.
Not a huge fan of some of the trash the dress photos where her hands are above her head, beautiful girl, but underarms are not the most attractive unless you work on them in PS. Just my preference.
You've done a good job, and are off to a good start. Look forward to seeing some more of your work.

I'd already done it at their request so I left it in to show customers that I can do it. You'll notice I toned down the color so it's not so harsh as regular spot color.

I think, to be clear, it's not the music selection people are complaining about; it's having any music at all. For many people, music on a website is a big turnoff. If you are at work, if you are already listening to other music, if you speakers just happen to be up too loud, whatever...having music come on all of a sudden can be annoying.
So, while music can certainly enhance a slide show, many people seem to feel that it is better if the viewer is given the choice on whether they want the music "on" vs. having to turn it off.
My personal preference would be to have slide shows turned off (with no music) by default so I can manually click through pictures but, if I choose to turn on a slide show, have the music come on then.
Most importantly, I really, really enjoyed your pictures. You did a great job capturing the emotion of the events.
