Actually it's a picture from a test model of the new 1D Mark IV that Canon will be announcing on Sept. 29th.

Gorgeous shot! A rousing endorsement for the camera techs at NASA. If there was ever cause for the question of "Is this copy of my lens soft?" upon purchase, I think Hubble may have taken the cake.

Of course. After all, much of the light gathered isn't even visible to the human eye, so the too-long and too-short wavelengths have to be translated into the visible spectrum...
