DC300/Ixus40: force flash option?

Hi

Does enyone know how to force the flash on?
There may be better ways, but in bright daylight, i normally use the flash if the photographed subject is in the dark by some reason - cycling the flash options is 'no flash', 'read eye', 'auto', but no 'always' as with my old analogue olympus mju...

Sure - when in shooting mode, press right on the directional pad (the side with the 'lightning bolt/flash' icon. It will scroll through the flash modes with each press - stop on the one that is just the lightning bolt (i.e. no 'A'). This will force the flash on. I think it's all in the manual.

(btw I think you mean SD300, not DC300)
