I have fooled around with this for a while... I bought an PIXMA iP4000 last night and even though it is an excellent printer, quick, accurate and nice quality, I have some issues with the brightness of printing photos.
Method 1: Direct.
Canon PowerShot A85 - hook up durectly to the printer via USB select photos and print with the "vivid" filter... About 20% darker than the actual shot.
Method 2: Print via Canon Software
Same result as method 1
Method 3: Post-Process via PS CS2
Same result as method 1, 2
UNLESS
Adjust using "levels" changing the midtones level to 1.20 - then prints perfectly. Here is my setup. Please tell me what I am doing wrong :)

The Print Options:

Honestly, I am clueless as to where I can begin with resolving the issue, and I dont want to waste a ton of ink trying a hundred different combinations of settings... Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
Tom
