Hoya HD filters???

I'm in the market for some filters for my 70-200 f/4 IS and was Hoya had introduced some HD filters. What's so different about the HD?

I was going to buy this filter [CPL] but when i found that a local store of Hoya doesn't have it in stock and it will take weeks to be in stock i ignored it, but i am looking to buy one maybe.

I have a 77mm Hoya HD and a protect filter (bulging front element of the 11-16 scares me, so I use that protect filter... as if it didn't flare enough :P )
Pretty happy with them so far, the IQ is very good - and by that I mean, I haven't seen any quality differences comparing the Hoya HD CPL to a B+W mrc CPL, and no visible difference in using the protect filter versus nakes lens..
The main differences between other filters is that the HD filters are STRONG like you won't believe. They are also a bit thinner than regular CPL filters, so they act a little like a slim filter (useless feature unless you use it on an UWA lens).

I have done business with this company, as have many others on this board, and can vouch for their customer service. Their prices are also about half that of other sellers. In my case, I paid about $56 for the 77mm Hoya UV HD filter, whereas B&H wanted $110 for the exact same filter.

B&H and Adorama are the reliable ones for camera gear in NYC. But as mentioned, the on line filter outlets are cheaper for filters.
