Hey everyone i am new to these forums and everyone here looks really helpfull and honest. I got a wedding comming up on nov 7th its my first ever and am totally nervous. Just curious if anyone had any tips for me. I use a canon 20d, 580 ex2 flash, 17-85mm and a 70-200mm lenses. Could probably use my dads 40d or 50d if he lets me what would be the best choice and why? Also some poses really any hints or tips would be very useful thanks.

WOW that answer can takes pages and pages and pages to answer. Get the 40D and use you 20D for back up.

OK... here are my thoughts.. i would take a back up body.. jus in case.. you may not even need to use it.. but its good to have just in case something happens.

Also, what is your widest aperture on your 70-200? I wold invest in 50mm 1.8 if you dont have the fund for the 1.4 version. Its always nice to have something that allows for great portraits, and low light abilities.

I would also suggest to stay calm, and research the location of the wedding.. so you can see what your lighting will be like, durring that time of day when the wedding will take place.

i would look around and see where a good place for formals, and family group shots will be. And take a few test shots ( bring someone with you.. so you can see what your working with.)

and just stay calm, and have fun.

i threw up before my first wedding. and there wasnt a need for it.. i was nervous over nothing. it was agreat little wedding, and alot of fun.

I moved this to TALK as you don't have an image to share and more pros can help you here.

You'll definitely need 2 camera bodies, a faster (f/2.8) standard zoom would be better which 70-200 is it? The 2.8 IS I hope? Read up as much as you can. Make sure you have plenty of memory and battery power.

just curious why would you pick the 40d over the 50d?
