Hey all, figured I'd tap the collective knowledge here. I'm looking for a bag to hold: a 1DMkIIn battery, 300 f/4 L IS, and 17-40L. Small is better as this is basically to hold the 300 f/4 but I might as well carry the 17-40 for different types of shots as well. Probably a messenger style bag is preferred aka (man-purse ;) ). Thanks for the help, pictures would be awesome too!

Love my Crumpler 7MDH. Any of the Crumpler bags are easy to shoot out of IMO, and the build quality is top notch. http://www.crumplerbags.com

What size would you recommend for two lenses and the other stuff listed above?

I have just started using Think Tank Belt System. I am using the Modular. Just started using it this football season, I love it. I only carry what I need in the belt system.
Check out Scott Sewell videos, he has a Think Tank system in use in the videos.

the 7MDH comfortably fits my 10-20, 24-70, 28-105, and a 40D w/ grip and the 70-200 f2.8 attached, batteries, gaffers tape, 580ex II, whibal card, voice recorder, etc.
It's not small but since it's a messenger style, it lays fairly flat when it isn't full.
You might be able to get away with a smaller one as I can't remember how big the 300 f4 is if you're not carrying much else.

Went with the Crumpler 6 million dollar home for now. Have an operation for a cyst in December that's on my tailbone right near my beltline so I don't think I'll want a belt system until after that, but the thinktanks sure do look awesome.

+1 I have used it since last year. I really appreciate it when I shoot with one body and need to change the lens.
