Just wanted to share some of my shots we got last weekend! I had to kneel down due to people crowding from behind us with cameras :p is there a easy way to get rid of shadows in PP? or should I take a little reflector

A little fill-in flash would've helped - especially in the top shot.

Mind the fair pole too - it's growing out of his shoulder...you move your feet to the right and you get the sun under his cap a bit and the pole out of the frame. It looks like you WB is a bit pink on my monitor too.

I was waiting for these. Looks good. As your kid grows up among the faithful, he and you will treasure these shots (esp. if Waino wins the Cy Young)

As to your question... +1 on the fill flash. That said I'm no pp expert; but I gotta believe you can improve the shadows a little. Did yiou shoot RAW? Maybe able to do some good with conversion.

In all the years and all the games I've gone to, I've yet to go to a camera night. I really had no idea the access was this good. Maybe I'll hit one next year.

Love the help I will buy the 580 or 430? for next year I went all out I rented a 55-70 2.8 and a 300m for this event. Yes I see the pole but it is impossible to move in this situation if you can imagine over a thousand people three deep in this area and you cannot move! We was lucky every year pujols and others picks my son up and holds him! Is there someone that can PP my first image and get the shadows out of it and if so I have the Raw image I can send I would love to get these perfect becasue this is the first time I have had a nice Canon to shoot these with. As to your second question yes I shot all in Raw and have developed them many times but cannot get my WB and shadows out.

Ok need help again getting ready for photo night again and want to improve on last years shots! I am going to rent the same lenses but does anybody think I need a flash that can fill in the dark areas if so what flash is good that will keep up also I am thinking of a monopod and mounting the flash somehow about half of the way down?

Any suggestions would be great!

Don't need a monopod.. just get lower and shoot upward... your on-board flash might cut it, but if you want to be sure, you could rent a 430EX - that should be plenty good enough. Go out with the kids and practice by having them wear ball caps at high noon and see how well you can light up face under bill of the hat... Try that with your on camera flash before you shell out to rent one.

yes, if the lighting is the same you need a fill flash of some sort. I dont know what you have access to, a 580exII would be great, a 430exII should work as well. Just dial it in to -1 FEC and it should do the trick for you.

Most likely, but you need to practice with it and be willing to adjust after seeing the results on your screen.
