Or subtitled, 49mm vs. 58mm.

Things I know I know:

• They have different diameters -- Canon's is 58 mm; LensMate's is 49 mm
• The Canon adapter blocks a bunch of the optical viewfinder as well as part of the coverage of the built-in flash
• Vignetting. Is there more or less vignetting with a 49 mm than a 58 mm adapter?

I already own the Canon G2 adapter with a lens hood -- it seems to work fine ... though I wonder if it's messing with the autofocus element because some of my pictures are ever so slightly out of focus from time to time. And so the reason for my question is this basic question, Should I buy a Lensmate and get my filters in 49 mm or should I screw all my 58 mm filters onto my Canon adpater? Thanks in advance.

I've got the canon adaptor which I use with the canon wideangle converter. Although it's more "chunky" I prefer the feel of it, probably because it feels more like holding an SLR, which I would have been if my wife had let me buy a D60 (spit!).
