The doors are great and I really like them, but for some reason the overall shot is not doing much for me. Thats just my opinion!

It doesn't do much for me either. :) Just liked the doors. I tried a few different angles but it was hard to access without getting clutter in the frame. Now if they knocked that wall down...........;)

Not sure about this one, but I feel if it was a bit more 'punchy' it would look good. Why not play around a bit and adjust the levels etc?

IMHO a little bit more contrast will help. And I would also give a try to BW.

I like the doors also, Maybe a close-up of each door by itself, course that sort of defeats the idea of the mirror effect.  They seem to look familier to me, did you post another photo a while back looking through that doorway?

demum, would you mind if i posted a few ideas? i loved this shot but the colors werent doing anything for me. i spent some time on it in photoshop and have about 5 different ideas i could post. some are pretty good, the angle isnt as big a problem in the variations, imho.
If not, its ok.
Cool doors. if you can, i would go back and get a close up of that old door, i bet it has great texture and would present well as a closeup.:)

ok so i did a few things to your doors, but left them on my computer at home. i tried to duplicate it at work, but this is a non calibrated monitor, so if it is somewhat off, forgive me. matter of fact if tehy just outright stink, forgive me. lol
here is a color and a bw conversion for starters.

dewmew, your original looks great. Not so much for it's artistic merit, more as a great capture that shows some interesting archetectural feature. I like these kinds of pictures.
I can't say the same for the edits. smitty, can you explain your intentions, or the purpose of the changes beyond just the ability to do so?

not sure if you took the time to read all of the posts but a few others were suggesting pumping up the saturation or changing to b&w. so i did it. its like asking what the end of the movie had to do with the beginning, without watching the middle.;)

Nice effects - I particularly like the first 2. Thanks for taking the time to work them up.
As for standing on the wall I think the house wardens would throw me out. But heck I'll go and give it a try! :)

What I was looking for were your intentions with the edits. I see you've added some comments to the edits. That really helps. Communication is a priority in collaborative efforts. Thanks.
