Hi Guys
Here are a few from Philip Island yesterday.
4 seasons in one day as usual there. Still learning, but getting more confident every time I take the camera out now. Unfortunately I only have one long lens (400mm) so most shots are a bit tight. Me thinks a 70-200 F2.8 might be a good idea in the not too distant future.

I like your shots frizzle....especially the bikes. I'm about to watch the race now, from my lounge. Could you have walked back some for the tight shots.

Thanks Lionel.
I did walk back on some of them, but was not possible on others. A con of not having a zoom I guess.

I've just shot the Warwick Historic Race with a 70-200 but I knew I could get close to the track (media pass) The Island is a different story, mabe turn 10 work with the 70-200.

Nice - Some great action shots, especially the side cars riding the curbs.

Nice series of shots. Sharp cars and good blur on the wheels. I need to practice that. :)

Can you tell me what lens/camera setup you have? Your shots are awesome. I'm guessing 400mm L?

Yes mate Canon 400mm F5.6L USM Lens. Terrific lens & the price is very reasonable. Which was important in my case ;)
I am using an EOS 450D as I'm still on a learning curve.
Very much looking forward to the release of the 7D though.

Wow, awesome series. Well done. Your Canon 400 f/5.6 L lens is excellent glass. Did you use a monopod or tripod for these shots? With lack of image stabilization on this lens, is it really necessary? Your photo's are exceptional IMHO.
