Sorry for the mostly rear end... he wouldn't face me. :):) That's the pose I usually get. Nice shot.

Possibly a Five-striped Sparrow (Aimophila quinquestriata) - maybe a juvenile?

That looks like a Black-Throated sparrow, common to the deserts.
