Love shots 2 and 3. 1 is a little static for me.

Nice shots. #2 is my fave, as you get an idea of the atmosphere. Pity to see Michael take a tumble. A great achievement by Ryan Farquhar, who has now beaten Joey's record of 119 wins in Irish road racing. Farquhar was unstoppable this season. Joey's I.O.M record is still safe, though imo.

I like number 3, number two would have been better with a better bike.

Nice shots.
I've wondered several times in pics posted by others, the bokeh is oddly shaped in the trees, it almost looks like coffee beans. What lens were you using? I've never seen this in any of my images.

1 and 2 are super pics. Right place at the right time for 1 and not easy obtained given the potential danger involved in a loose bike bouncing down the road towards you. No catch fences here to protect you.
No 2 shows what its all about, captures the atmosphere of the big crowd and the sheer madness of standing literally feet away from a missile hurtling down a country road at 180mph. Love it.

Loving number 2. Would have been better if it was a tad sharper!

Hi all,
Thanks for all the comments, I've been on hols since I posted so just replying now.
Firstly, I just pp'd them quickly in Picasa so I could get them online quick. Once I get a chance I'll pp them properly (and go throught the other 897-ish I took that day!)
number two would have been better with a better bike.

I was trying to get the whole way round the course during the day, and this was the first spot I was in, so it was the only race I was in that spot for. Luckily I ended up at the first corner for the Grand Final to get #1.
As for sharpness, I need to go back and check out my other shots from that spot, some of them are a bit sharper, but didn't have the composition of that shot, which I really liked.

I appreciate the work the marshals do, so didn't bug them into letting me over the road with the accredited guys. So I was actually in the "safe" spectator spot behind the ropes (which is exactly where the bike was sliding towards!) when the crash in #1 happened!

It's a Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS. I've notice d that odd bokeh in a few of my shots alright.

I signed up yesterday to put them up as you suggested, but there's a few comments about shots being nicked, so I'll add a watermark first, then put some up!
Again, thanks for the C&C.
