DIM Problem

I'm trying to configure DIM which I downloaded from http://alanlight.com

It says I should choose the "Source Path". So I plug in my Camera and the camera shows up in "My Computer" but it doesn't have a drive letter assigned to it. It just says Canon Digital Camera.

I then browse to find my camera but it's not there in MY Computer like it should be.

The manual says I should enter the drive letter that my camera is assigned ie H: but like I said earlier it doesn't have a drive letter.

DIM btw is a small program for transferring RAW photos from CARD to PC....

On the DIM download page there is a link to email the author. I've corresponded with him on an occassion or two. He is pretty good about helping out. He also seems to hangout on the digital forum at www.popularphotography.com. (http://www.popularphotography.com.)

AFAIK you need to use a card reader, you can't plug your camera in and use DIM.

OK so I have a reply from Alan......

"If your camera does not appear as a drive (many don't), you will need to get a card reader"

So i'll get a card reader. I've been meaning to anyway....
