I took these on Saturday past. The light was a nightmare (for me, anyway), as the cars went from strong sunlight, into shadow and then half shadow and half sunlight. I had probs trying to get the right exposure (something I'm still trying to get the hang of). I suppose I should maybe have set the camera to 'TV' setting, but hey-ho, you learn by your mistakes.....

Anyway, enough of the bleathering, here are the pics.

Nice one's there. I wish we had mud over here instead of dust.

Fantastic crisp images Philip. What glass were you using?

Good stuff ST-PHILIP, maybe you should think about using manual in those conditions, had to work never made it to the Lakeland.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Jim, I used manual for most of them. I used TV for a few, towards the end. I can't remember which ones, though. My main problem is white cars. When I think I've the correct settings, along comes a white car, and the pic ends up over-exposed. I will get there in the end, though. All part of the learning expierience. The marshalls were great, allowing us to stand right at the edge of the road. As long as we jumped back into the tree line as the car passed, they were happy. A marked difference from the over-zealous marshalls at the Ulster.

Stav, pardon my ignorance but, by glass, do you mean lens ? If so, I was using my Canon 70-300 IS USM. One thing I've noticed about it is it's voracious appetite for battery-packs when the IS is used ! An excuse for a battery-grip, perhaps ? ;)

Nice series, my favorites are the ones of the escorts.

Nice shots, the yellow MarkII was on maximum tail out mode all day. Good to see bit of sunshine here as well!

He certainly was ! He was the 000 sweeper car, but if he'd been timed, I reckon he would have been one of the top MkIIs ! It was a beautiful day. Alistair Fisher Fisher finished a superb 2nd. That young man is going places.

Thanks, Alan. You can always rely on the good ol' MkII for great tail-out action shots ! :D
