Shooting with KODAK HIE infrared film

Can anyone give me any tips or tell me of past experiences with infrared film?

To say im an amateur is an understatement!

I bought ny first roll of KODAK HIE yesterday with a HOYA R72 IR filter.

Ive been looking at several sites for info about exposure and they all seem to say "this is how you do it, dont listen to waht youve heard else where..." and they're all conflicting.

I just need a couple of ideas about what ISO to set the camera at when the filter is on and how to meter.

Is that a color or B&W film? For B&W you probably do a forum search as I think it's been covered several times.

If it's color, then I got good results with a Y2 yellow + 81B filter without any exposure compensation.

I haven't shot IR film for a long time, but when I did I set my camera to the ASA the film was rated at (I said it was a long time). The pix came out great.
