This past Friday I went down to Pigeon Forge TN to take some photos at the Shades of the Past Car Show.

Most of my photography experience has been solely relying on natural light...so knowing that I need to gain some more experience with Flash...I shot the following photos using my Sigma 10-20, a Canon 580EX II, and a Flashzebra.com 3 Foot ETTL Cord to get the flash off-camera.

These are just a few of the photos I took at the show, that I have manged to get on my website...I'll be adding more soon.

C&C would greatly be appreciated....I have very little experience with OCF...so the experince Friday was hands-on learning, so any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Here's a link to my thread last year concerning the same car show back in '08: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=582151 ( O yeah, I still only went one day...go figure, I'm a wimp when it comes to the heat. And, I've sold all my glass except my 10-20, so that's all I had. O well, hopefully my 50 f/1.4 will be here before the next car show this coming weekend.)

I have to say, if you get the exposure right between the camera and the flash, it sure makes post-processing a breeze. As you can see in the above link, I used a lot of post-processing last year to compensate for the the mid-day sun.

24 hours, and no comments and only 54 views? :(

Are they that bad?

If any one has any helpful advice concerning OCF and car shows, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Some really nice shot you took. Just wish they were larger.

Thanks.:D

I just used the same images found on my site, but I see what you mean. Maybe that's part of the problem, they are a little small. I suppose it depends on what size monitor your viewing them on.

24 hours, and no comments and only 54 views? You got one comment, which is more than some of mine get? A lot of you guys expect comments, but just can't take the time to give someone else a <bump>, so count your blessing. ;)
The 1st shot seems to have a reflection from the flash. Metallic paint can look good with a flash, though. The B&W Bel Air shots aren't interesting, but I do like the last one. Most of my photography experience has been solely relying on natural light... Which is my favorite for a good reason; It makes the cars look good if you can wait for the right time to shoot. Car shows are tough, but you can get some nice shots if you work at it.
