Are you saying you want to see them without a watermark?
I think you need to ask the photographer.

It's there because the photographer wants their work to be identified as theirs and not be ripped off by someone looking for a freebie.
You need to contact the photographer, they are their images.

Where'd you pick up that term?
You're right, some networks call it that but where'd you hear it?

Not to give you a lot of flack op, but one would think that a video editor who worked professionally would know what the "bug" was for and how to get a copy without that pesky watermark on it (ie; legally and by contacting the photographer who is obviously the copyright holder). Especially with all the copyright conversations that occur here on this forum.
On a side note, what network do you work for? ... just curious (probably be a good idea to watch them to make sure they don't pull a "heineken" lol).

Am I reading this correctly? Did you just ask a very large group of photographers how to get around a watermark and steal images???

YES I'm just going to use them in a blog - not really stealing them to sell or anything.

Nope...
I only need to be close to an airport. ;)
BTW, bad idea on "borrowing" the images.

You still need permission to use them. Smugmug sells digital downloads. Perhaps you should ask the photographer about buying one. Notice if you right click on them a window pops up? Read it.

It is not just about rules, it is about respect for another persons time, effort and talent.

Ouch, talk about liability ready to happen lol.
Good for you though on asking for permission. Despite being law it's good form. If you don't like asking for permission in the future then you can get on any of a number of photo sites and do a search for photos tagged with a creative commons license which the owner has allowed for creative use, modification and/or adaptation.
