View Full Version : D60 Software - Problems?

I am a little confused (I often am!). I bought a G1 over a year ago and installed the accompanying software (Zoombrowser) to download and store the RAW datafiles. As the G1 forum will attest, there were lots of problems with this software! I moved away and now use a card reader and ULead software to download JPEG files. I have continued to do this with my D60 - I think I may be missing out here on some clarity to say the least! I ask - does the software provided with the D60 work without any problems. I only looked at the disc briefly and thought it was the same as the G1 disc and so avoided it.

Should I use the software disc provided and then shoot in the RAW? Sounds like I should but would like to know if people out there are using the D60 software without problems. Can you still use a card reader with it? Sorry for so many questions. I find it easier to ask my questions here rather than experiment myself.

Drandy, I have no problems with the stock Canon software, the D-60 itself, the external card reader, or any of this. It took a day or two to figure out what was going on, but that is normal startup procedure.

I did not find any functionality (sp?) with it, it worked. I just found it to be a little difficult to use. I found breeze browser from people who use it here. I think it works great, it's only $35 and you can download it as shareware to try out.

I have been playing around with Pekka's D60 sharpening tools for Photoshop and I found that breezebrowser makes converting the RAW files to linear tiff's a snap.
