I'm going to amsterdam next week so am hoping to get some good photo oppotunities.

I'll be carrying my camera in my Crumpler Muffin Top

I'm fed up with the neck strap always getting in the way when I am taking the camera in/out of the bag. I'd much prefer a decent hand or wrist strap.

My camera setup for the trip will be the 450D with Sigma 18-200os lens.

I don't have a battery grip so I've been told the Canon E1 strap won't work.

Any ideas???

http://www.markinsamerica.com/MA5/HS3K.php From the looks of it, the strap comes with an adapter that connects to the cameras tripod screw hole.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

The "adapter" is actually a camera plate for the Markins tripod. Many ballhead companies make their plates with a slot for the hand strap. There are accessories (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/366416-REG/Sunpak_620740_Contoured_Hand_Strap_for.html)that you can get at B&H that screw into the tripod connector, that will work. Bulky, though.

The Markins strap, however, is all leather, and the best strap I've used. You can use the above accessory with any strap.

I haven't given in to hand straps as I use my neckstrap WAY too much, although after I get the cotton carrier holster, I'll probably get one of these for my 40D.

Some here use this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Op-Tech-Wrist-Strap-Black/dp/B00137NMMW/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1253022374&sr=8-12

I've seen Maureen dangle her 5D from her wrist and it scares me to death, but she says it's great. I use a neck strap and a hand strap.

Similar to this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Camera-wrist-camcorders-digital-cameras/dp/B000OMR00C/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1253022374&sr=8-11

but it's a Habuka brand.

I got one of these Cheap ones just to see if I liked them ans so far it's been a Joy , the only complaint if it's too tight it's a PITA to reach the adjustment wheel .

I use my own with the neck strap , neck strap on the opposite short end of the camera so it hangs on my neck in "Portrait" orientation and hand strap on the other side .
