Anyone care to venture a guess at Canon's announcement Sept 29?
Could it be the long awaited 1D m4?

Looking into what the people, who are mentioned in the invitation, at Canon Sweden work with, it turns out to be office equipment.
Perhaps a lead towards that it's something else than a camera?

I don't think I'll drop my 1D Mark IV cash on a photocopier. :D

That's what they WANT you to think!

imagine if they entered the graphing calculator market and intergreted a 5 megapixel camera in......*drooling* engineering would never be the same again.

They sure are touting it as something huge... change the world talk is pretty serious.
My prediction? I am thinking something along the lines of the Espresso book machine, which already is poised to change the world: http://www.ondemandbooks.com/home.htm

The canon is most likely their SED tv range. They said it would kill plasma/lcd but then got embroiled in a patent dispute of some sort.

That's a definite possibility... Sounds more realistic, then a 1D IV because, well... that isn't "world changing" (or w\e Canon said the announcement will be)

Cheating in math class would never be the same either.

...and at least a 12x optical zoom so that students can browse another students' answers at a distance. J/K.

I've posted this in another thread, but here, from CR:

I already knew it would have nothing to do with EOS, let alone cameras, but if that is really all there is to it, it's even more disappointing than I anticipated!

Just wait. This technology is going to trickle down to cameras, replacing RAW files. Soon, all of our camera will shoot natively in a new PDF format that only works with the very latest version of CS.
oh wait.

No mention of a Direct Print Button either - perhaps the world is changing?

As OP of this thread, I hereby state this is my first and last time at posting a "rumor".
Man, how lame was this announcement.
I should be ashamed.

Eh, they're called "rumors" because they're not "facts". They're all fun and without them we would have fewer things to look forward to. :)
