I have two Elinchrom BX 400 lights. I am wanting two lights for background use only. Will the Interfit 150 lights be up to the job or will they not sync with the Elinchroms.

They will sync, but you will find they are of a slightly different colour temperature/cast.

Anyone know if two of these will be sufficient enough to blow out a white seamless background?

Whether or not you can achieve pure white will depend on the size of the background, distance from subject to background and your shooting aperture.

If you're shooting at f/16 you may not have the power in your background lights to achieve the additional 4 stop reflective exposure on your background. If you're shooting at f/5.6 then you probably won't have a problem.

If the distance between subject and background is very limited then even if you have the firepower you may have to shoot at wider apertures so as not to cause wrap and have light returning from your background to the subject area. Remember, a 9 foot white background is acting like a giant reflector.

The term 'blown out' implies clipping. There is a difference between white with no detail and clipping. You want to have the correct amount of light hitting your background but you really don't want to blow it out, which seems to be a common misconception and incorrect use of the term. Pure white is not blown out.
