Hi All.... My name is Tim and I live in New Hampshire. I finally went for it and bought my first D/C. After carrying around a Canon FTb for 25+ years and many thousands of pix, I convinced myself that I needed something new (although, except for one tune up several years back, my FTb has performed flawlessly and I will continue to use it until they carry me out of my house toes first). I received, this Monday, a G3 and am having a blast learning a new thing, much as I did when I bought my FTb while in the US Navy.
With that out of the way, I think there is a problem with my camera though : ( If the LCD screen is out at 180 degrees and pushed just a little against the stop, it takes a picture! For a few days, I couldn't figure why, every once in a while, it would take seemingly random pictures. It wasn't until last night when I was using it, I figured out that when the LCD was open all the way and pushed just a little bit against the stop, it would start taking pictures. If I pull it back from 180 degrees just a bit, everything returns to normal.
I'm thinking this can't be normal. I hate to return it for an exchange (fortunately I bought it from a very reputable company) but I may need to.
Has this sort of thing happened to anyone else? Is this normal...Gee, maybe it's a feature....TWO shutter releases!
Thanks in advance for any help
Cheers,
Tim
