Shooting for myself. Most definitely a photographer's dream out there. Didn't even shoot that much during the week since it was my first burn, but still managed to get a handful of good shots. You could spend 24 hours a day shooting and all 7 days if you were up to it. There is so much to see, it's almost impossible to see it all in a week. Thanks again for all of the comments.

Thanks! Shot this one the first day. No cpl, just a few hightlight/shadow/blacks adjustments and a vignette in LR.

Great captures! I'd love to go sometime. A friend and I were literally headed out the door to drive 1200 miles for Burning Man 1992 when he got a call, family emergency and that was that.

Thanks! Sorry to hear you weren't able to make it, but I assure you you'll go when it's meant to be. Hopefully that's next year for Metropolis.

Have been enjoying all the images you've posted.
The photo group to which I belong in Cave Creek, AZ had five members attend and they also brought back some outstanding images but they didn't approach it in as "graphical" a way as you have.

Thanks! Would be curious to see some of their shots. Are they posted anywhere to see? I always try to set myself apart from most other photographers with my unique style, glad you appreciate. So stoked for next year, hope to see you there.

Did you have a photo pass, or were you just walking around? How was the dust/sand on the equipment?

This guy's stuff is awesome. Lovely portrait work. I really want to focus more of my time next year capturing the "faces" of Burning Man. This was my first year and I knew that I wanted to capture the art more than anything. I really didn't shoot as much as I was planning on, but I think I was able to enjoy my first burn and soak it all in because of it. Stoked that it was finally the right time for me to attend. Metropolis here I come!!!

I was part of the Hawaii Fire Conclave, so I had a pass to shoot with them the night of the burn. I was just wandering the rest of the time trying to see as much as possible. Funny you ask about the dust because that was something I was sooooo concerned about before I went. I heard horror stories. I had all of these plans for ways to protect my gear, but when I got there I just threw all of that out the window and didn't protect it at all. I always had my bag with me that has a rain cover, but the dust gets all over everything no matter how hard you try to keep it protected. Brought some canned air which helped out, but that didn't last long. Wasn't as bad as I initially thought it would be. Cleaned the camera after each outing and stayed out of the big dust storms. I will probably send it in to Canon for a thorough cleaning to make sure all the dust is gone. I'm only shooting with a Canon 30d and tamron 17-50mm 2.8, so if I had to replace them it would have been worth it to me for the sake of getting the pictures. I saw people laying their 5d mkII's on the ground for shots, CRAZY!!! Those people probably have way more $$$ than I and can afford to do that. One of my friend's would change his lenses in the dust on his 5d mkII, but I know that he has bank and can just buy a new one. Sorry for the long response, but I hope some of the info helps.

Wow, that's ridiculous. Glad it wasn't as bad as you heard. any xxD camera with that lens is a great combo.
By the way, I asked before if you had a CPL, in looking at more of your shots on flikr, the skies really tend to stand out, I know you said you just did some basic adjustments, but they really look great.
