I have a Ibook that I bought this year and It will not read CR2 files on PSCS or Digital Photo Professional. I can take the same files and try them on my PC and they work just fine. Any ideas of what I might try?

are you able to transfer the files from the camera or CF card to the iBook? if not, try setting communications in the camera to PTP.

there's an upgrade to DPP on the canon website - try it. I am able to read my camera's raw files just fine in elements 3 on my iMac OSX 10.3.

good luck.

The transfer of images goes fine. DPP will show me the preview boxes with the file number underneath, but the box is blank with a cross in the center of it. I tried to run the update off the canon site but it is giving me grief. My DPP is currently version 1.0.0.8 I think and the updater is version 1.6 I believe, but my computer will not let me do the update. Is there anything I can be missing? Anybody have a problem like this?

I'll add that the update loads up and goes through all the motions for me, but when I click on DPP info to see if it has updated I get the same old 1.0.0.8 version. Bollocks!

You'll need a DPP version newer than 1.0.0.8 to view your 20D CR2 files. The version you have is the one that came with 1DmkII and the 20D wasn't around yet at the time.

You might need to update your PSCS ACR as well if what you have is not ACR 2.4.

Get the latest updates from Adobe for CS. They just came out a month or so ago. It added a bunch of Canon camera models.:) I just went through this with my 1DmkII.

It has been solved. I was dealing with an extremely old version of DPP and I swore that it was updated, but no. I was wrong. I reloaded it with the 20D supplied software and all is well. My workflow is back on track! Thank you for all the help! Where is the best place to get PSCS updates?
