Shot this wedding for some friends. I was very nervous, everything moved much faster than I expected and I shot way too many pictures. By the time I left I was tired and scared that I wouldn't have anything worthwhile due to the nasty storm that hit in the middle of the group shots and continued until the reception was over. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and here are a couple of my favorites, go easy on me.

LOVING that shoe shot!!!
Good job for a first go! Mine didn't look like this on my first try :)
Keep at it.... just watch the heads (#2)...love the shot, but not a fan of the crop.

thankyou! will keep that in mind next time, I was definitely moving very quickly and not paying as much attention as I should have.

These are lovely, nice work, the only CC I would have is to clone out
(using bandaid tool in photoshop) the pimples on the side of the bride's face in pic 3 , it's the first thing I saw - my eyes were drawn to it !

Your black and whites look a little grey scale to me.

Yeoer, I agree, and although yours seem more punchy, it may be me, but the first looks WAY oversharpened (or too high contrast in the midtones) and is NOT flattering at all for the groome. It really exaggerates his skin and its the first place my eyes went.

EDIT: Mike, love your work on the colour shot!

Harsh over sharpened edit yeap... took less than 1 minute to do... yeap...
Its only to highlight how much more punch a b/w could/should have.

Good images, It appears to me that they could all use a little brightening, maybe a levels or curve adjustment to make them pop out a little more.

Took some of your suggestions and made an edit to the first kiss picture, thanks so much everyone.

Congrats on handling your first wedding. They're scary.

1 - Interesting angle but pretty underexposed, no light in her face at all.
2 - I don't entirely mind the head crop BUT I say either crop the top of the head OR the hand, not both ;) I like the moment you captured but I agree, the crop is pretty in between.
3 - Very nice moment but very flat conversion. Give this sucker some contrast and smooth out the bride's skin a bit.
4 - I don't mind the composition here. Not bad for a shoe + ring shot, but again, flat conversion.
