Hello all,

So i have a helo shoot coming up within the next 2 weeks. We are going to have two helo's on the edge of a runway, closer to the runway lines than my diagram suggests. I'll be using 3 Elinchrom RX600's, and two 580EXII's in the cockpits (Hopefully Lon's cables come in soon)

I'll be shooting with a 14LII, 5DMKII and be up on a ladder to see the strip of runway lights going down a ways. For shooting the pilot i'm using the 10 inch reflector with 20' grid. Just to get some shine on his face and upper body. Not sure how far back, but to taste.

But my sticking point is lighting the choppers. I have two 135' reflectors and i'm thinking of angling them a bit upward as to only light the helos from the skids upward. I do have one 8" reflector but i'm trying to avoid buying a second, unless i have to. You think the 135' reflectors angled slightly upwards will provide enough width and the cutoff not too harsh for the choppers?

Sorry about the quality, iphone uploaded to facebook = double horror.

Tell me what you guys think! I'll be putting the Explorer XT to the real test using 3 lights at the same time. (Which i've used 2 in the field and 3 at home, just fine)

TIA

So basically i'm caught between using two 8" reflectors for my RX600's and pushing them further back, or angling/scrimming the 135' reflectors.. watcha think?
