I didn't think it could be done but I did it twice.
I made two 16"x20" prints from the G3 used in my studio with White Lightning Strobes. One was black and white printed on Kodak Professional Paper and the other was colour printed on a wide carriage EPSON professional printer. I can't belive how sharp they are.
I retouched in Photoshop 7.0 and resized to 16"x20"
@ 300ppi and used unsharp mask. The results stunned the people at the photo lab.

Anybody want to buy 2 used Pentax 645 cameras?

The only thing I don't like is the G3 has a hard time focusing in the studio by the illumination of the modelling lights.

Hi

I've blown up G3 images to A4 size (8.5" x 11ish ") and been suitably impressed.

I'm encouraged to hear that you've got good results going even bigger :-)

Have you tried going to manual focus for studio work? To be honest,
I find auto modes invaluable if I'm on the move and don't want to waste time - but if I'm doing one off shots in controlled conditions I usually dispense with auto altogether.

Cheers

Yes, there are many times in the studio when the G3 will not focus by the illumination from the modelling lights. Then I have to use manual focus and tripod.

There is a printing program called Q-image that uses the best form of interpolation (Lanczos, much better than Bicubic used in Photoshop) to automatically upsample/optimize images to the proper dpi for your printer. You just pick the size (say 8x10) and it does the rest. You can get AMAZING results!

Some people have printed 8x10 from 1 Mpixel cameras and have received pleasing results.
I highly recommend Q-image.
