New member here... been lurking for a few days, reading all the sticky threads and links.

I just got the EOS Digital Rebel XT 350. I'm used to my 35mm EOS Elan 7NE, but new to digital photography, so the learning curve on software, etc., is pretty steep. I've got the histograms figured out, now on to RAW conversion...

I'm sure I'll have questions - in the meantime, thanks for all the info on here, this place has an amazing amount of information.

Welcome to the forums judyg. Lots of good info, dont be afraid to use the search function. Thats how I learned 90% of what I know and I didnt have to ask the same questions everyone else asks when they first start.

Actually, the forum does not rock much. It just kind of wiggles from side to side due to age. I've found it to be pretty helpful, no matter which way the information is flowing.

It's better than the neighborhood clubhouse that we had when I was a kid.

Welcome JudyG! It is a fun and helpful forum and.....we must warn you as we do others that your financial health could be at risk if you catch the 'fever' for more lenses and accessories. The forum assumes no responsibility for your financial condition if you cave in and pick up a couple L lenses and a speedlight along the way! :) Anyway we look forward to your posts and photos!

It's better than the neighborhood clubhouse that we had when I was a kid.

I never had a neighbourhood clubhouse but I think i'd enjoy this place more even if I had had one ;)

when i was a kid we charged new members to enter our clubhouse as sort of an "initiation" . . . so JudyG, your initiation fee will be to buy me a Canon Ef 70-200/2.8 lens. And I'm not sure this forum rocks but I believe, based on some of the answers I've read, that some of the members get stoned now and then.

Hi judyg and a very warm welcome to the forum.

I've tried one or two others before, but found them rather cliquey, this one is much friendlier - despite the lousy sense of humour exhibited by certain senior members who should know better!:lol: :lol: :lol:

Do take heed of the warnings about your financial health, its cost me a mint since I joined :lol:

I haven't posted much (just my intro) but have been reading the threads. I have to agree that it rocks very much. Very friendly, helpful, and funny. I'm awaiting the arrival of my 300D so once it shows up, I hope to post a little more (hopefully good things, not desperate help-me-please!! questions).
