My new son

I shouldn't say new as he is now 3 weeks old. He came 6 weeks early but has done extremely well but is still in NICU. Mom is doing better now as well considering that I almost lost her as well. Hopefully soon J.D. will come home so I can take better pictures. Trying to shoot a gray card in an operating room was tough. It has also been difficult getting pictures with my 20D or for that matter any camera inside a very controlled critical care unit.

I have been away from the forum for awhile and I am trying to catch up on my reading. We make 3 trips to the hospital a day and I have such little time for breaks. Thank God that my work and shooting schedule have diminished during this time, however, I am enjoying every moment I get to spend with my subject.

Got a call from the NICU this afternoon with even better news. We will be discharged this evening. I don't know if I am 98% excited and 2% scared or 2% excited and 98% scared. Of course after 10 years of trying to have a child I should be ready to bring him home.

Thanks for all of the positive comments. I don't know if I was the geek carrying the monster camera into the OR or not but I did pick up 3 weddings and numerous photoshoots of children while I was there. Our neonatologist even may the comment that the paparazziwas already after this kid. (Pretty funny and broke the extreme tension in the OR.)

Congratulations!!! My cousin just had his 2nd son . . . both were C-sections and he had video of both . . . funny thing on the 1st one, for a few months, the doctor had been telling him that he believes it's a girl, then on the video, you see him comE out and hear my cousin yelling, "HOLY S@#T!!! IT'S A BOY!!!"
