Welcome to the forum and specifically to the WF!

I can see you are using a N*kon D70 and a standard kit lens?

The first shot is similar to the ring shots I take, but you have to really spot focus on the diamond on the ring to see if it has a glimmer. That makes the shot much more WOW. The second shot is lovely.

THese are good! I would like to add to Suzy's comments on the first one, I think the DOF is too much. Having the couple a tad bit more in focus would have more impact. I think they are just a bit too distorted.

I can see 'em now. They are a really good start! Better than I could do. The second one is my favorite! Nicely done!

There is actually a funny story behind this wedding. We were not the main photographers. My sister was singing at the ceremony, so I decided to grab my gear and get a few shots of her singing. Didn't even plan on going to the reception. Got there, got some decent shots of the ceremony, then headed off to a friends house.

Well, half way to our friends house we get a call....... It's my sister....... the bride is frantic, because the "Main Photographer" has decided that he doesn't want to drive to the reception............

Flashback to a few months ago........

We presented this couple with a great price package to shoot their wedding. less than 50% of what we normally charge for a wedding) For whatever reason, they decided to go with someone else.

Well, after further investigation........ The "Main photographer" was not paid. he was rendering his services as a favor to the groom (who is a DJ) and he knows from the club scene.

Back to the wedding Day..........

I decide "what the hell" I'm gonna go ahead and take the reception shots for the couple. BUT........With us, we only have 2 camera bodies and 2 70-300 zoom lenses. We live 25-30 minutes away. So, we fly home, grab the rest of our equipment and fly to the reception hall. We arrive just as the wedding arrives. (no time for test shots) Sooooo to put it mildly, my first 10-15 shots SUCKED. But we ended up getting some pretty good shots of them.

We provided them with digital copies of the best 150 shots and all we asked in return was that they take us to dinner and of course sign the model release form.

I guess it was worth it , just to take the burden off of the bride on her big day.
